To echo World Opera Day, OperaVision presents a fascinating documentary that gets you to the heart of the backstage excitement of a major new production of Turandot from Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires in 2019. This new version of the much-loved opera by Giacomo Puccini was made entirely in the workshops of the famous Argentine opera house. The video follows step by step of the making of hundreds of costumes, shoes, wigs, hairpieces and headdresses for an extraordinary cast that includes a 100-strong chorus, a children's choir and extras, in addition to specific costumes for each member of the cast. Discover the details of how the monumental scenery was made, from sketches to the stage. Enjoy footage of the rehearsals of the resident orchestra and interviews with the conductor, director and singers, who reveal the secrets of a collective work of many months that went into a handful of extraordinary performances.
