These 20 minutes of highlights streamline Bury Court Opera’s 2019 production of The Turn of the Screw, Benjamin Britten’s chilling adaptation of Henry James’s ghost novella. Directed by Ella Marchment and conducted by Paul Wingfiend, it starred a full cast making role debuts spearheaded by Alison Rose as the Governess. Earning 4- and 5-star reviews in the British press, the production was hailed as ‘deliciously creepy’ and ‘the most powerful version of this opera ever seen’.
