AsLiCo Singing Competition 2019

Prize Winner Michele Patti

Becoming an artist

The AsLiCo Singing Competition is the oldest lyrical opera contest in Italy, founded in 1949, provides talented singers the opportunity to sing roles in professional opera productions of the highest calibre and receive musical and theatrical training.

Follow the young Italian bariton Michele Patti during his rounds in its 70th, as he goes on to win the title role in Rossini's Guillaume Tell. Listen to the jury member Nicole Braunger, opera artistic director of Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and a singer in her own right, as she advises on the importance of finding one's voice on- and offstage and distinguishing between appearance and reality.
