Festival Castell de Peralada

The Perelada Festival is an international benchmark for classical music, opera, and performing arts, held every summer in the monumental complex of the Peralada Castle. This historic setting, with Gothic and Renaissance origins dating back to the 14th to 16th centuries, provides a unique backdrop that immerses attendees in an unparalleled cultural experience. 

Since its creation in 1987, the festival has stood out for its exceptional programming, featuring recitals by renowned voices, symphonic concerts, acclaimed operas, and interdisciplinary performances combining music, theater, and dance. Over the years, it has premiered numerous exclusive productions and hosted world-class artists and companies, establishing itself as a space where tradition and innovation meet. 

The festival boasts a variety of iconic venues, including the Church and Cloister of Carme, perfect for small-format operas, recitals, and contemporary productions, as well as the new Perelada Winery, which hosts select performances in a modern and intimate setting. Every corner of the grounds, surrounded by the majesty of the castle and its gardens, contributes to an unparalleled artistic experience. 

In addition to its summer programming, the Perelada Festival expands its cultural offerings with the Easter Edition, launched three years ago. This cycle, held in the intimate setting of the Church of Carmen, has become a prominent musical event in the Mediterranean region. With a focus deeply connected to the spirituality of Easter, the Easter Edition creates a unique atmosphere of reflection and connection, serving as a prelude to the summer season. This initiative reaffirms the festival’s commitment to excellence and cultural desynchronization, fostering the enjoyment of music beyond the summer months.
