Concours de Genève 2024 Finals

Live on Available until

Founded in 1939, Concours de Genève is one of the most important international music competitions. Its aim is to discover, promote and support young talent, giving them the tools they need to develop an international career. The Geneva Competition is unique in that it is multidisciplinary. Among the forty or so instruments featured since its inception, a number of flagship disciplines are offered each year on an alternating basis: piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, viola, string quartet, singing and percussion. For the first time in 2024, OperaVision streams the finals of the Concours’ Singing Competition.

In its more than 80 years of existence, the Geneva Competition has revealed nearly 800 artists, including such prestigious figures as Victoria de los Angeles, José van Dam, Annette Dasch, Marina Viotti, David Fischer and Marie-Adeline Henry. In addition to the official prizes, the Geneva International Music Competition offers a Laureate Support Programme, providing young artists with the support and advice they need to develop their artistic identity and launch their careers. It includes two years of management, as well as recordings, international tours and workshops. On 22 October live from Grand Théâtre de Genève, three finalists will sing three opera arias each accompanied by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by Alevtina Ioffe, followed by the prize-giving ceremony.
