Availability of full performances

From time to time, OperaVision organises live broadcasts during which we show operas, concerts and competitions in real time. These livestreams are then available on demand for a fixed period. The majority of productions shown on OperaVision are pre-recorded and available for streaming on demand. Most performances are recent, meaning that they will have been recorded within a month or two of being shown on our channel.

You can find information about upcoming production on our home page, in the ‘Coming Soon’ section. You can also stay updated by subscribing to our weekly or monthly newsletter. New titles are added to OperaVision every month.

Hover over the title and click ‘More info’ or the ‘+’ icon.

Click on the ‘View all available performances’ button on the OperaVision homepage, or use the search function on our website. Please note that the productions on OperaVision are available for a limited time (usually 6 months).

OperaVision negotiates streaming rights with its partner theatres that are time-limited, usually to a six-month period. The dates, between which a production is available, can be found in the information section at the top of the production’s page on the OperaVision website.

To display subtitles, click the ‘CC’ button or the settings (cog) icon on the video player. During livestreams, subtitles are available in English only. More languages are available afterwards when the post-produced version of a production is released, usually two to three weeks following the livestream.

Yes, subtitles are available in English, the sung language, and the spoken language(s) from where the production is streamed. Additionally, you can use YouTube’s auto-translate feature to access subtitles in over 120 other languages.

OperaVision’s funding does not allow us to subtitle in all languages and we choose to privilege subtitles in English, in the sung language and in the spoken language(s) from where the production is streamed. However, our on demand streams benefit from YouTube’s auto-translated feature, which offers more than 120 languages.
During livestreams, subtitles are available in English only. More languages are available afterwards when the post-produced version of a production is released, usually two to three weeks following the livestream.

You can adjust subtitle size through YouTube’s settings, please see YouTube’s subtitle FAQ for detailed instructions. Note that subtitle size can’t be changed for OperaVision livestreams which have burnt-in subtitles.
