Jocasta's Line

Working with a renowned choreographer like Wayne McGregor certainly brings great excitement to young artists, but also its share of challenges. Backstage, we met two dancers involved in McGregor's production of Jocasta's Line: Anaïs Touret (France), who joined the Norwegian National Ballet’s youth company in 2016 before moving to the main company, and Giuseppe Ventura (Italy), who joined the junior company in 2023 and is now starting his first season with the main ensemble.

Join director Wayne McGregor as he talks about his vision for Oedipus Rex and Antigone, where he brings together male and female choruses; he explains why he chose this combination, reflects on the role of myths in artmaking and explores Jocasta’s story and its meaning today. McGregor reveals why he calls the work Jocasta’s Line and how he brought this choreographic project to life.
