Teatre Principal de Palma (Mallorca) is the setting for the fifth edition of the Opera XXI Awards streamed live on OperaVision. Premios Ópera XXI reward the best performances (best male and female singers, young singer), the best stage and musical direction, the best Opera production in Spain and in Latin America, and the best Spanish repertoire initiatives.

The ceremony, directed by Spanish director Marta Pazos, combines award ceremony with musical contributions from soprano Mariola Cantarero and María Hinojosa, and actor Ángel Ruiz among others. The 27 theatres and institutions form part of Ópera XXI network have devised Premios Opera XXI to highlight the essential contribution of opera to society in Spain and beyond.
