Based at the Palazzo Corsini al Prato in Florence, Mascarade Opera is a non-profit programme which provides exceptional training and professional opportunities for emerging opera artists. The programme forms part of the wider mission of the New Generation Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to championing great musical traditions and sustaining their future.
Created specifically to support the next generation of outstanding singers and répétiteurs, Mascarade Opera brings together exceptional young artists from diverse backgrounds, with fully funded places available for up to 12 participants each year. In addition to covering tuition and accommodation costs, the programme provides an annual stipend comparable to entry-level salaried positions in the industry. Through intensive year-round training, artists develop the wide-ranging skills required of elite performers, while benefiting from showcase productions, orchestral galas, and performance opportunities with partner opera houses that help launch their professional careers.
Mascarade Opera additionally presents an annual concert series and large-scale co-productions, including The New Generation Festival, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to supporting excellence in music and nurturing future generations of artists.
