Documentary
As part of our focus on Young Artists at Oper Frankfurt, this film features the Opera Studio of Oper Frankfurt. Founded in 2008, the Opera Studio is now one of the most renowned centres for talent development in the German-language opera sector. The episode focuses on scholarship holders Nombulelo Yende and Karolina Bengtsson, whom we accompany as they prepare for the Opera Studio Soirée. In this documentary episode, they talk about how they experienced their first year at the Opera Studio, the challenges of their job, and what keeps them motivated every day.
The Opera Studio has a long-standing collaboration with internationally renowned teachers who pass on their knowledge to the young artists in masterclasses. The interview and masterclass with Neil Shicoff is therefore one of the highlights of this episode, in which you get an exclusive insight into the intensive coaching work of the scholarship holders in the run-up to the Soirée. You can stream the full live recording of the Opera Studio Soirée starting March 9th.
