With a history spanning more than 350 years, Opéra national de Paris is renowned for the quality and diversity of its programme at Palais Garnier and Opéra Bastille, and for the unique architecture of its two theatres.

With more than 400 performances a year, Opéra national de Paris offers a programme of ballets, operas and concerts as well as a programme dedicated to young audiences.

Opéra national de Paris aims to make works from its operatic and choreographic heritage accessible to as many people as possible, and to encourage the creation and performance of contemporary works. Welcoming new audiences is at the heart of Opéra national de Paris's mission. With almost 900,000 spectators every year, Opéra national de Paris develops initiatives to encourage them to discover the world of opera and dance, and to make it easier for them to understand it.

The Paris Opera Academy contributes to these missions by supporting the emergence of the next generation of professionals and the transmission of know-how. It offers residencies to young talent from all over the world, advanced training courses in crafts such as dressmaking, carpentry and tapestry, and introductory courses in opera and dance for young audiences and families.
