International Opera Awards 2023
Polish National Opera is host of the 2023 International Opera Awards ceremony. Live from Warsaw, OperaVision streams the complete ceremony featuring an exciting array of categories and performances by featured artists. Founded in 2012 and known as opera’s Oscars, the International Opera Awards are the annual celebration of excellence in the international opera scene. The awards aim to recognise and reward success, create scholarships for emerging talent and raise the profile of opera. This year's jury, composed of opera professionals, is chaired by John Allison, editor of Opera magazine.
The gala celebration will feature performances by excellent young singers: past winners of the Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw who are now enjoying thriving international careers, emerging talents of the Polish National Opera’s Opera Academy as well as recipients of this year’s Opera Awards whose names will be revealed at the last minute. The programme combines the most beautiful fragments from Moniuszko’s operas and gems of the international opera repertoire. Andriy Yurkevych conducts the soloists, Chorus and Orchestra of the Polish National Opera.
